Underground storage tanks (USTs) like other manufactured goods and infrastructure have a life expectancy and as the underground storage tanks continue to age, the possibility of leaks increases. A leak in an underground storage tank can mean not only losing the valuable fuel oil or gasoline, but thousands of dollars in added liability and environmental remediation costs to the property.

Terratechnik is licensed under the Gasoline Handling Code, and our staff are trained by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority to carry out any commercial or residential oil tank removal and installation including the associated piping. We are also licensed to dispose of any contaminated waste and residuals in a safe and responsible manner.

BE SAFE AND STAY ON SCHEDULE

Under regulation 213 (O. Reg. 213/01), the province of Ontario has a regulation which states that all underground storage tanks must be replaced as per the following schedule:

Tank Age
over 25 years
between 20-24 years
between 10-19 years
between 0-9 years

Replacement Date
replace by October 2006
replace by October 2007
replace by October 2008
replace by October 2009
